Here at Camp Tall Timbers we aim to:

  • Improve and develop interpersonal and social skills.
  • Stimulate camper’s self-esteem.
  • Help campers appreciate the natural environment.
  • Allow campers to experience group living.
  • Give campers an opportunity to expand their independence.
  • Provide the opportunity for campers to set goals, learn new skills and challenge themselves with progression.

How will we do this??

  • Camper’s will make one new friend a day
  • Announcements are made at every meal times to highlight camper accomplishments.
  • Golden Feathers for each activity are awarded to those campers who showed particular effort/improvement/skill throughout the session.
  • Campers will attend at least one camp fire and camp out at least once a session –‘Survivor/Cabin Night’.
  • Each camper will live in either a cabin or tent with other peers and counselors where they will be required to undertake the responsibilities of keeping the area clean and making group decisions.
  • Campers will, on the second day of camp, decide upon their own schedule and which classes they would like to take and when.
  • Campers are encouraged to learn at least one new skill whilst at camp.
