Desired Qualifications:

Ability to learn tasks as assigned, ability to work well with others, knowledge of proper hygiene and cleanliness when working with food, knowledge of recipes and other food-related tasks, knowledge of food preparations and storage.

Experience:

extensive experience in a kitchen, working as a cook or cooking
assistant. Must show competency in kitchen or recommendations from head
cook if they are an assistant

General and specific responsibilities:

Wash dishes, glasses and silverware by hand or machine, sweep and mop kitchen and dining room, take out trash from kitchen and dining hall, clean and wash trash cans at least every other day, cut, peel and wash fruits and vegetables, mix juice and serve juice, water and milk, help unload food supply truck, prepare food for storage, cook meals at breakfast, lunch and dinner, keep stored food safe and easy to access, cook meals for many people, knowledge of food services and safety laws, knowledge of preparations of specialty foods like vegan or vegetarian. Knowledge of preparing
foods for later consumption.

Essential Functions:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs for unloading and lifting food, equipment and/or supplies, visual and auditory ability to identify environmental hazards or other hazards of the kitchen, physical ability to operate various kitchen appliances and equipment, physical ability to stand and work while standing, ability to determine cleanliness of dishes, kitchen area, surfaces, etc., ability to assess condition of food
